Brighouse Top Lock will been closed due to a pollution incident. A powder fire extinguisher has been found in the canal causing a white powdery film affect in the water. This can harmful be to wildlife and the ecology should it get into the river. Our Ecology Team will be working on containing this substance in the area and then removing it. We do not know how long that this will take, but the notice will be updated with any progress that is being made.
