Since our last update our engineers have been to site and assessed the damage. Our team are onsite today to start the removal of the old collar and replace it with a new one. It is anticipated that repairs will take a few days. A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday 16 September.

Navigation is closed at lock 90, Deans Lock on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal due to the collar fixing on the on the lock gate has snapped, resulting in the gate becoming detached from the lock walls, making it unsafe for boaters to operate the lock. Engineers have been instructed to assess the damage over the next few days so they can then plan a method of repair. A further update will be provided on or before Monday 14 September.
