Thanks to the operatives, the top gates at Whitley lock have now been repaired and the lock is once again fully operational.

Unfortunately, we can no longer offer an assisted passage through the lock, due to having to repair the RAMs. It is unsafe to use the lock while this work is being undertaken so the lock will remain closed until works have been completed. It is anticipated that this will by the end of this week and that the lock will reopen on Friday. This notice will be updated as soon as we have more information regarding the reopening of the lock.

The top gates at Whitley lock have suffered some damage and are no longer safe to operate. The lock is now closed until Monday until we can get them safe to use again. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

Whitley Lock is currently out of operation. Our Mechanical and Engineering Team has been on site today and is working on a repair. We will be offering assisted passage between 10am and 2pm daily to allow boaters to move through the lock. Please be aware that, if it is busy, you may be asked to wait. This will be reviewed no later than 4pm on Thursday, 24th July.
