Though the footboards have been removed, it is the downstream paddles that are not working, but the lock can still be operated using the towpath side paddle only.

The footboards and elbows have been removed and taken to the Fabrications company to be repaired/remade. We will update the notice when further updates are received on the progress of the works.

On inspection, it has been found that following a collision that the elbow holding the footboards have been significantly damaged and causes a hazard to users of the lock. The offside tail paddle is out of service whilst we get the footboard platform replaced. The reactive team will be carrying out the repairs in the week and we will update the notice on Friday 11th September, with the progression of the works
