Contractors have attended site and have repaired the burst pipe and the road bridge has been brought back down into position. The navigation closure is taken off.

Sykehouse Road Bridge is currently stuck in the open position, causing road traffic to be blocked. The hydraulic unit has a burst pipe and fluid is leaking from it. Unfortunately, the earliest it is able to be attended to and repaired will be tomorrow. We are letting all the local authorities and emergency services know and we will update the notice when the repairs have been carried out and when the navigation is clear. We are aware that there may be oil leaking into the navigation, which will be boomed off by the local team, once the pipe has been fixed.
