What CRT said it was for
Works to remove aquatic weed from the Ribble Link have now been completed. Following the closure of the Link, passages will now resume from Wednesday, 16 September. Due to prior bookings during the closure, we will need to prioritise existing customer passages. As a result, we are unfortunately unable to accept any new bookings for the remainder of this year. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience and understanding while these works were carried out.

Passages through the Ribble Link remain closed while works to remove aquatic weed take place. The works are scheduled to take place from Tuesday, 1 September until Tuesday, 15 September. Ribble Link bookings will resume as soon as the aquatic weed removal works are complete, allowing the link to operate safely. Boaters with upcoming bookings will be contacted directly to rearrange their passage to the next available date. If you are unable to move your boat, require assistance, or have specific circumstances that you would like to discuss, please contact our North West Customer Support Team on 0303 040 4040, and we will do our best to help. Bookings for passage through the Ribble Link remain closed to protect the limited water available on the Lancaster Canal and maintain levels for safe navigation. Our teams have been carrying out ongoing repairs to known leaks within the affected area on the Lancaster Canal, although water levels still remain low, we have seen a slight increase to the flows from Tewitfield over the weekend. Our teams continue to monitor water levels across the canal daily and will review the situation regularly. We will provide an update every two weeks, or sooner if there is a change in conditions. We will reinstate Ribble Link bookings as soon as water levels have recovered enough to allow the link to operate safely without putting further pressure on the available water supply. If you are unable to move your boat, require assistance, or have specific circumstances that you would like to discuss, please contact our North West Customer Support Team on 0303 040 4040, and we will do our best to help. A further update will be provided on or before Tuesday 1 September.

Bookings will resume as soon as water levels have recovered sufficiently for the Ribble Link to operate safely and without placing additional pressure on the canal's water resources.
