The water levels have been closely monitored by the local team and the water levels have recovered enough to allow for passage. Passage through Lock 9E to Lock 20E is now possible.

The navigation closure has been extended from Lock 9E to Lock 20E due to low water levels, making it too low for navigable passage. The water levels are being closely monitored by the team and we will update the notice should there be any improvements.

This notice is for a closure between Lock 14E and Lock 20E on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Water levels have been deemed too low to travel. We will review the situation as it goes on and we will look to see if we can reopen the Canal as soon as possible. Please do not attempt to travel in the areas of low water as you may get stuck and require rescuing. Sorry for inconvenience caused.
