I am sorry the previous message stated you need to book passage through Tuel. This is no longer the case. We will reopen the lock on Friday 12 June and passage will be available following this pattern: Mondays and Fridays 0800-1600 no prior booking required Sundays 1000-1500 no prior booking required

The water levels were risen today to see the effectiveness of the repair undertaken. The works have been successful and so we shall be reopening the passage on Friday 12th June. Passage will need to be booked as done before. Those bookings already in place for Friday will still stand. Please book your passage online via your CRT account or phone in to the Customer Service Team on 03030 404040 - Yorkshire North East Team option.

The works to the neighbouring property, to prevent damage from canal water, are progressing well and we are still on track to raise water levels to normal on Wednesday 10th June 2026 to test the effectiveness of the repair. Subject to the repairs proving successful, passage will be available from Friday 12th June and operation of Tuel Lock will following this pattern: - Mondays and Fridays 0800-1600 no prior booking required Sundays 1000-1500 no prior booking required We will confirm the effectiveness of the repair, and whether we are in the position to offer passage by 5pm on Wednesday 10th June 2026.

The works to the neighbouring property, to prevent damage from canal water, are progressing and we now plan to raise the water level to test if the works have been successful on Wednesday 10th June 2026. We will confirm the outcome by Friday 12th June and at the same time provide an updated operating schedule for Tuel Lock.

Tuel Lock will be closed after operation on Friday 29th May 2026 to allow works to a neighbouring property. These works are essential to stop the property being further damaged by water from the canal. It is expected that these works will take up to 2 weeks, with the lock expected to reopen on Friday 12th June 2026. Should works finish sooner then Tuel Lock will be re-opened earlier than planned. We will advise on progress of the works on Friday 5th June 2026 and will also give an updated operating schedule for Tuel Lock at this time.
