Unfortunately, the condition of Rhodesfield lock has deteriorated and we need to bring forward our works planned for next winter, therefore repairs are required to the lock gates and cill at Lock 1, Rhodesfield, due to timber decay that is affecting the structural condition of the gates. To ensure the repairs can be carried out safely and effectively, a full navigation closure will be in place for the duration of the works. This stoppage is essential to maintain the continued reliability and safe operation of the lock. We understand that closures can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation while this essential work is completed.
