Please be aware: Following a further review of this stoppage, the navigation will remain closed for the entire duration to ensure all necessary work is completed within the stoppage window. It will not be open over the weekend as previously advertised.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to ongoing works at Lock 2, now scheduled to continue until 21st November, this stoppage has been rescheduled to run from 21st November to 5th December. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please note: while the site will be set up on Friday 21st, navigation will remain open over the following weekend—from 4:00 PM on Friday until 8:00 AM on Monday, 24th November.

We apologise for the need to add a navigation closure to carry out grouting works on the Lock.  Grouting is a repair method where special cement is injected into cracks or gaps in the lock's structure. This helps stop leaks, strengthens the lock, and keeps it working well for years to come.  During this period, towpath access will be restricted.  Please note: We will open up navigation over the weekend within this stoppage window to help reduce the disruption.
