Further to the notice below, please be advised that Kelston Lock (Lock 5) is now closed pending the replacement of the lock gates. Unfortunately, due to elevated water levels, it is not possible to undertake the necessary works during the winter period. For safety reasons, the lock has been secured and will remain inaccessible until the repairs are completed. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Further to the notice below, please be advised that there will be only three further days of assisted passage through Kelston Lock, Lock 5 before the lock is closed for the winter pending replacement of the lock gates. The three days remaining for emergency passage through Kelston Lock before it is closed are: * Thursday 23rd October from 10.00am until 12.00noon * Saturday 25th October from 10.00am until 11.00am * Wednesday 29th October from 10.00am until 12.00noon Please be aware that the gates are very fragile following a fire and with the weather conditions changing in the winter season and the rising water levels that occur in winter the lock will become unusable. Please note that, for safety reasons, the lock will remain secured and inaccessible outside of the published dates and times.
