Please be advised that the pintel a critical component supporting the swing bridge and enabling its movement—has suffered a mechanical failure. Consequently, the bridge is currently inoperable. The bridge is now positioned at an angle across the navigation, obstructing passage for both waterborne and vehicular traffic. Pedestrians are advised to use the alternative footbridge located downstream at Bulls Lock. Our contractors have been notified and are mobilizing to attend the site. However, it is anticipated that the navigation will remain closed throughout the weekend. Further updates will be provided as soon as we have confirmation regarding the expected timescales for repair and reopening. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to our boating customers.
