What CRT said it was for

We would like to let customers know that the planned works at Bottom Barge Lock have been deferred. During our final preparations, we identified conditions on site that mean the works cannot be carried out safely or without causing disruption to moored craft at this time. To ensure the work is completed safely, efficiently, and with the least possible impact on customers, these works will now take place at a later date. A confirmed date will be shared as soon as it is agreed, and we will provide plenty of advance notice to any craft that may need to temporarily relocate during the stoppage. Thank you for your understanding, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We have reviewed the works programme for Barge Bottom Lock and expect the work to take a shorter time period than previously scheduled, increasing accessibility for boaters to Stourport basin during January.  The stoppage will now run from 2 February to 13 March, ending at the same time as the nearby stoppage at York Street Lock. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

A navigation and towpath closure are required for top gate replacements. We will also be doing coping stone replacement.
