We're pleased to confirm that our teams will have the water levels restored in time for the weekend, and the canal between Lock 1 and Lock 6 will reopen on Friday. Our teams have been working hard to get the navigation back open. Progress had been paused to resolve an issue with the feeder valve, which has now been fixed. Work will continue tomorrow to fill the remaining pounds, ready for the canal to reopen. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused to your boating plans.

Unfortunately, due to the recent dry weather, it's taken a little longer than expected to restore water levels. We need a couple more days to bring them back to where they should be, without affecting levels on the Lancaster Canal. As a result, the stretch between Lock 1 and Lock 6 will remain closed for now. We'll provide a further update on Wednesday 14 May.

While our teams have been working to fix the issues caused by suspected vandalism on the Glasson Branch. We've been doing everything we can to get the navigation back open, but unfortunately, it's taking a bit longer than we'd hoped. This means the stretch between Lock 1 and Lock 6 will need to stay closed over the weekend while we carry on the work to restore water levels. We're really sorry for the continued disruption and will share another update with you on Monday 12 May.

Due to suspected vandalism on the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal, we've had to temporarily close navigation between Lock 1 and Lock 6. This will allow our teams to work through the lock flight and replenish the water levels, which we expect to take a few days. We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to get the levels back to normal, and we'll provide a further update on Friday 9 May.
